Refugee Family Reunification

  • I'm often in contact with people who help refugees settle in Ireland, I ask them questions about the law and how things really work on the ground.

And yet, you're not explaining to the posters here that understanding of the law and how it relates to what he said. Instead, you're just bashing him.
So I've some idea about all this.

And we should just accept your word on this? He has some idea on all of this too. Care to show us why your opinion counts for so much more?

I find it interesting that their countries of origin have strict laws regarding the behavior of foreigners especially with regards to religious practices... but it's terrible that some suggest we should have similar conditions here.

So you and your "national party" want to turn Ireland into a catholic version of Saudi Arabia?

Actually, he quoted me... I said that. :D

And I was referring to the policies of other countries which often have stricter expat/immigration/visa laws than Europe, along with rules regarding foreigners behavior while in that country.

We don't need to go that far, but we need to send a stern message. "This is our Country, our culture and our laws. You adapt to us. We don't adapt to you. Don't like it. Leave"

oh i think you will find we already send a similar message. that nobody adapts to anyone, just abide by the law of the state perfectly fine and enough.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Don't be putting words in my mouth, I've a general idea of how the situation actually is, from talking to people who work in that area along with some refugees. It varies from county to county but all of the Iraqi refugees I know of, are christian (some are well educated and have decent jobs) and the Syrians I'm aware of are Muslim (the ones who found work are in low skilled jobs) most of the families are small with two or three children. Some families haven't ever made a reunification application and of those who have it's either for one or two.

And we should just accept your word on this? He has some idea on all of this too. Care to show us why your opinion counts for so much more?
In my county which has hundreds of thousands of people, there are 150 refugees, less than 20 have come here under reunification and 3 or 4 more are to come provided their family can prove they are providing for them. That's it! That's what all the whoo ha is about.
This thread is a quagmire just like all the other similar threads you see here all the time with the same gang of posters spoofing.

I don't care to make some pointless attempt at showing why my opinion counts more because I'm not taking about opinion. Anyone who has an interest in the situation with refugees can easily find out what the situation is in their county and in doing so, it becomes very clear, that a gang of people have found each other online to join forces spoofing.

We were promised Syrians that were doctors/brain surgeons/engineers & your telling us they found low skilled work?? Either you or our politicians are lying to us. Just because none have made reunification applications dont mean now they wont bring all their extended family. If you lived outside of Ireland you would see this is what they normally do but I guess personal experience is better than being told of someones experience

Are you really naive that those 150 refugees will stay at that number seeing as our government has voted that the can bring more? If you really think you wont get any more dream on

Maybe someday look up the difference between refugee & migrant. The only gangs on here are the leftists who call everyone racists or bigots those who questions the influx of migrants into Ireland

I didn't put any words in your mouth. I quoted what you wrote. You stated that you had a superior knowledge of the law, and how it related to the refugees. You made the point that your awareness of this whole area was better than his, and "his kind". And that justified your bashing his opinion on the subject.

But once again, you're using personal experiences as if it's perfectly logical that we simply accept your assertions while dismissing someone like Help!

This is boards... if you want people to believe your stance, provide links to articles, research, and statistics. Otherwise, your opinion is just an opinion. It's Not fact until you prove it.
Anyone who has an interest in the situation with refugees can easily find out what the situation is in their county and in doing so, it becomes very clear, that a gang of people have found each other online to join forces spoofing.

Strange. Anyone in opposition to the current refugee policies could easily point that same finger at you.

You see... many of us here on boards do have a pretty clear understanding of the refugee topic. Oh, we're not spending time with the refugees themselves, but we have access to the internet for our own research. And there are various camps of opinion. Some want all refugees gone, some want more efficient systems in place for the whole thing, some want aid at source etc.

It just suits some posters to lump everyone together into a US or THEM setup.

“A gang of people have found each other online to join forces spoofing”

You can quite easily use that phrase to try and shut down any group of people, posting about any subject.
    It doesn’t make it true.

There’s plenty of absolute spoofers on the pro immigration, pro Halawa, pro whatever it is that needs our Avengers liberal division support right now.

Direct provision should be ended. Anyone flying in from a European country looking for Asylum can go on the next outbound flight back to that country. Any others get processed within a couple of days. DP is inhuman cant understand why it takes years to process people. It would be better for them & cheaper for Ireland to employ more people for the processing process.

Germany a 6 man terror cell have been arrested. Planned a coordinated attack on Essen Christmas market. Not picked up by MSM here yet so is unconfirmed for the leftists. If true though is this really what Merkel imagined when she opened her big mouth. Good that the German people are waking up

"BREAKING: German security forces have arrested 6 refugees in the towns of Kassel, Hannover, Essen and Leipzig, the six are believed to be part of an ISIS cell planning to carry out a terror attack in Germany."

She was about to call him racist, but that little hamster in her head was facing a cognitive dissonance as how could a non white man be a racist

He spoke a huge amount of sense, but don't expect him to be back on national media anytime soon.

And of course to some he is racist because God forbid he believes in not fooking the natives (be they black, white, yellow, pink) down the list when accessing scare resources just because we as a people have to look fooking good to the EU, the righteous knobs, the media celebs and give handouts to God knows who.

Yeah, this woman couldn't hold back either. He's saying "nationalist almost racist comment" :D:D
Couldn't quite say they are racist because of his colour but had to throw the nationalist part in their so she could say " almost"
When are liberals going to realise there are many more people not wanting immigrants coming here without jobs until at least we get our own country fixed first

"Very saddened to hear such nationalist almost racist comments from Kevin Sharkey on #cblive circling the wagons and the laager mentality. He'd close the borders to look after Irish ppl as if we're favouring the less fortunate immigrants."

Germany, and it's people are now seeing the reality of what Mrs Merkel's,"Wir schaffen das" entails for the country.

Whilst Frau Merkel supports another election, that prospect does not appear to find favour with the other main parties, who are acutely aware of the rise of AfD and, what could well mean, yet more of it's candidates being elected to the Bundestag.

Germany has,so far, been forced to adapt to the crazed policies of Mrs Merkel, but the strong indications are suggesting that the time for adapting has passed.

Ireland,is still in an infinitely safer position than Germany and middle Europe, but the strident proponents of abandoning,or relaxing our pre-existing immigration systems, appear intent on forcing their experiment down everybody's throat.

Given the internal situation in Germany, now is an opportune time to repudiate the "agreement" on accepting additional refugees into Ireland, and instead revert to the saner, and sensible, original total figure of 280.

Irrespective of what the Claire Byrne's of the Irish Media think, there is significant logic in a State, not wishing to import a range of problematic foreign issues, when addressing the domestic ones, continues to prove so problematic.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Meanwhile, as the Irish state prepares to take in even more "refugees", giving them prompt access to free healthcare, dental care, psychiatric services, a 90 year old IRISH man suffering with cataracts was told he would have to wait 4 years for treatment.

I don't hear the bleeding heart politicians and media whores championing this man's plight.

Maybe he should leave the country, lose his passport and pretend he is Syrian in order to get more prompt treatment.

    The war is effectively over?

  • The war is effectively over?

Even when the war is declared "finished"... we will continue to receive refugees from there. There will continue to be internal conflict, mopping up efforts for rebels, economic/social problems, disease, etc for years afterward.

So, the war being effectively over is not going to change things much.

When will Irish people wake up & see we are having our country sold off from under our feet.As long as our politicians are getting there 30 pieces of silver they dont care. They dont want to fix anything in the country because they know theres no point because we will end up a third world country soon enough. For every 1 refugee(migrants) you can add roughly 20
We have had roughly 400 so called Syrians come here already with another 300 odd to come in January so that 700 x by 20 (will be more) = 14,000
Where are they going to go? Are they all doctors/engineers or will it be like in the UK where over half will not work. Where will they find jobs?
George Soros is funding most of the push for immigrants to Europe he wants Europe to take at least 1million a year. Poland has the right idea unfortunately our elected gobshiites will bend over backwards for the EU

I think all the doctors and and engineers supported Assad and unfortunately stayed at home.
