Just as I'm about to put my old 98 civic though the NCT, I notice it is making a noise like a van turbo diesal makes when I'm accelerating away. Its like a blowing noise like the fan is coming in hard then stops when I release the throttle. I poked around the car and I cant see anything unusual going on ?

It really sounds like a van or a jeep pulling away. When car is stationary and I rev it I cannot hear it... When I casually pull away I dont hear it either.. When under load I hear it. Nothing appears to be rubbing ..... Could it be a bearing or something?

Sounds more like a leak in the exhaust somewhere that only manifests itself under load.
