i have a dacia duster and when i turn the key to start it each morning it takes an extra chug or two to start than i would like. feels for a second that its not going to start.

    what could be causing this?

id perfer to fix this now before it eventually doesnt start for me.

Could be several thing but I'd guess an oldish battery and cold.
Is it better to start when you leave work and it's warmer outside?
    Do you have a voltmeter?

    Thanks for advise.

no, don't have a voltmeter unfortunately.

I think its a littel better when its warmer outside but always takes that extra kick or two before starts.

Would i be as well to get new battery just in case?
    Its a 2013 car.

The easiest option for you is to head to a motor factors or Halfords and ask them to check the battery for you. And fit a new battery if you think you need it.

    Or any mechanic locally.

Extra kick comparing to what? Some cars are designed that way they need more than other ones.

maybe thats normal for duster, but i've never had a car before where you get the feeling its not going to start when you turn the key.

If you have a chance, compare it to another duster with the same engine. It's quite possible everything is fine.

It should start up as quickly as any other car you have owned
    Is it petrol or diesel?

Edit, there are videos on YT ofpeple starting the car.
    Google "dacia duster startup site:youtube.com"
