Emergency Payment

    Hi.

I am wondering if anybody knows how to apply for an emergency payment from social welfare.

We have a disaster situation at home! I am on carers allowance and live with my Mam (who I care for). Our septic tank is very old and needs replacing. We had it emptied about 6 months ago... it has now started to overflow.

It is horrible ... everything is coming back up through the shower. It costs about 300 euro to get it emptied and I do not have any spare money at the minute. It would be very hard for me to come up with 300 euro at any time.

I will be looking into how to change it but in the meantime will have to get it emptied.

    Help!!!

Best bet is to call into your local social welfare office and ask for an appointment with the CWO to explain your situation.

go to the community welfare officer for your area, fill out a form there and when u get called tell them the situation
