    Hey all,

Car failed the NCT because of the colour of the reflectors alone

There are 4 small red ones at the back and 2 small white ones on the front. Your man never said which to change/take off? Are all 4 non-compliant? Never had this problem before. He suggested just covering them in electrical tape for retest?? Surely it can't be as simple as that.

Very odd. I wonder did it just fade? The red turned orange and white to yellow??

You need rear reflectors by law

Maybe some stick-on reflector tape, the right colour, and cover the old one, just might do the job?

Had a jap import mx5 with red reflectors on the side of the back bumper . It's a fail as they're supposed to be orange , they told me to tape them up and drive around the back again for a visual inspection and they passed it , tape off and on your way .

Thanks lads. The red ones on the back are a perfect, deep red colour. No fading!

This must be the issue so, 2 of the red reflectors are on each side at the rear, the other 2 are on the back alright. Mines an Opel Vectra though, not an import, don't know why they never copped it before.
It's just so silly and a pain having to go back over, nearly an hour away.

The white ones at the front aren't a problem then?

I'd only be guessing about the white ones , I'm sure someone will fill you in , just bring a roll of tape with you and cover them if needed .

Had exactly the same with an import MX3 years ago.
