    Hi,

Just wondering how hard it would be to install floor sockets in a solid wooden floor? The hard part in my mind would be chasing the cable back to the wall and having to pull up the floor for that. Any tricks to bear in mind etc?

    Thanks.

I don't think you are allowed install floor sockets. I think all sockets have to be raised well above the floor

I've seen them in function rooms and the like, with a metal sprung covering.
Are the rules different for domestic?

I'm not an electrician but I thought they outlawed that type of thing years ago in domestic. When I was a kidney alloy sockets were installed in the skirting board. I thought they had to be at least a foot off the floor.

Plenty of good electricians on here will help you with the correct information
