Permit Parking

    Hi there,

With a Parking Permit, does it give you permission to park in any road indicating pay-and-display in a given area, or is it specifically on your road of residence and nowhere else?

I ask as parking isn't permitted in front of my house, but there are roads in the area (Dublin 6) where it is...

    Thanks!

In Dublin City, it normally specifies a particular street - your street. It will be invalid anywhere else. In certain cases, e.g. a busy street next to a street with no houses, it may specify the next street over, but that will be on a case by case basis and you will likely be asked to justify this. An example of this might be where some side roads around Dartmouth Square might have limited parking, but the square has excess parking - there are only houses on one side of the road.

Note that there are quite a few other rules that you will need to comply with.
