Tax amendment

    Filled tax return , done by accountant and tax owed on rented house ¢3500, got letter Friday from the Revenue looking for ¢8350, don't understand I am a PAYE worker, the rent for 2016 was ¢10,200. The Revenue say that I made €8000 rental profit in 2016 but even with no expenses against the house I would only need to pay 60 add percent tax on the rent.
    I am confused.

    Were all Tax Credits claimed correctly on the tax return e.g. Paye credit, etc.

    Talk to your accountant, you paid them see what they have to say.

    Maybe your employer fecked up and you didn't pay enough tax on your employment (it happens) or your accountant fecked up and didn't claim some allowance on the form (and it can be ammended).
