Anyone like to help me decide on 1.6 or a 2.0 litre VW Jetta.
Changing from a 1.9 so used to some power. I have a long commute each day and do very little driving around town. Looking for comfort, power and even to save some money on diesel each week.
    Any recommendations welcome.
    Thank you.

    Lol. Wow. :D

I'd go 2.0 as it has a bit more torque and is 6 speed. The 1.6 is 5 speed afaik.

To be fair, if it's a 1.9 TDI it will 'feel' more powerful than a lot of modern diesels do

    The 2.0 is usually 110bhp

Yeah, definitely the 2.0, bhp wise there isn't a lot between it and the 1.6 but it is a nicer drive with a bit more torque.

2.0 110bhp is still a 5 speed, apparently they were offered as a 2.0 140bhp too with a 6 speed but I've never seen one in the flesh.

Would that be the same 2.0 as they had on the mk6 Golf at the start before the 1.6 came along?

On a 2015 onwards Jetta the 2.0 eventually replaced the 1.6 but it would have been a detuned 110bhp version of the newer 150bhp version found in the likes of the Mk7 Golf afaik.

It felt very underpowered with the 5 speed box I drove it with. Lovely car otherwise
