    Hi folks,
Hoping ye can help out on this one.
Planning a surprise trip home to the family for christmas so I'll need to rent a car when I land in Dublin.
Hertz say online that they provide rentals to young drivers however when I call they say I have to be 25.
I'm currently 24 and have a full Irish license since 08/2011.
0 Points and 0 Accidents on the license.
Could anyone please point me in the direction of a rental company who doesn't screw young drivers on the price.
A car would be nice but I would also take a van if it came down to it.
    Thanks in advance
    T

Looking on Argus car hire there's lots that hire to 24 year olds.

Putting in Christmas dates puts the price way up though.

Christmas and summer are peak season for car rental firms so nothing is really going to be cheap to rent at those times.

HIring a car at 24 shouldn’t be an issue.

I hired a car at 22 but had to use my own insurance rather than theirs.

    Thanks Guys,
Not worried about the insurance as the credit card will cover that.
I'll try the suggestions and keep ye posted once I get something sorted.
    Thanks all :)

That covers the vehicle itself. Just make sure the rental block policy covers you for your 3rd party liability and isn't 25+

Just realized the car rental there will be a non runner. By the time you add rental and the 1500 euro deposit it'll be out of my price range.
    Bus Eireann it is.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply :)
