The seats are manky, personally I avoid cars with steering wheel covers or those fake stuck-on vents as they’re often owned by idiots (Big generalisation I know!) The 1.8 RAV4 itself is a great car though and to be fair, that particular one has some expensive Toyota accessories on it and appears to be one owner.

I wouldn't touch this particular example... Someone who parks in a no parking zone to take pictures of his/her car to put it up for sale doesn't scream "careful owner" to me (on top of what Colm mentioned)... Good car though, make sure your insurance is OK with cars that "old" before you commit to anything though as some are a bit edgy with 15+ years cars.

For the budget, and sticking with toyotas, I'd probably look for a taken care of avensis (with the same engine), you should be able to find a good 2007 one.

Lads to be fair the OP isn't buying the owner.

I'm not a fan of the tat as colm says but if the car is fine it can be removed easily. Use it to run the price down.

With cars of that age, you kind of do buy the owner me thinks. The difference between a good one and lemon at this stage has less to do with the car itself than with how it's been taken care of.

But not buying a car because of bad parking? Seriously?

If I turned up and the owner struck me as someone who never serviced the car then yes I'd take that on board but bad parking?

It always amazes me how people get so sticky over cheap cars yet would go out and blow 20k on a car without doing any checks. (That's not aimed at you Nuw it's just a general observatiom)

It was more of a joke than anything about the bad parking ;)
I think what I meant was that for the same kind of money, OP could probably source a better example. Anyway, back on topic, the point is, the ad itself doesn't inspire confidence, so if you do go and see the car OP, bring a mechanic you trust with you.

I'd pay no more than a monkey and half for it

It’s worth more than that though.
