    The skates they give you wouldn't cut butter let alone your fingers.

    I've got Hockey skates too and I'm definitely going skating this year. Luckily they haven't been sharpened since 1998 so all fingers are safe!

    Last time I went ice skating it was in London and there was a big riot and we all got pelted with eggs on the rink.
    As thrilling as this thread was to read, I think I'll give it a miss this year.
