Scissor Sisters

Just read the older sister Linda is to be released next month. 12 years ago it happened, didn't think it was that long ago. I can remember the shock about this case, a chopped up body in the canal. Never had much sympathy for the victim is was a dangerous predator by all accounts.

There is a hair salon on Dorest street called scissor sisters. Not far from where they dumped the body in the canal.

I'm thinking of that scene in Basic Instinct when Michael Douglas is with Sharon Stone and there is an Ice Pick on the bed side locker.

You could have the ultimate, adrenaline Danger Sex with this scissor. Certainly something to tell the grandchildren.

Is it just me or does ''scissor sisters'' sound like incestuous lesbian sisters scissoring each other? .....on second thoughts, probably just my warped mind. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Yeah, remember the searches out on Tallaght for it. Linda is the one who knows where the head his, apparently. Recall Charlotte saying that a few years ago.

We'll find out where Linda's local is when she comes out and you can pop in and ask her.

I think this was mostly shocking because of the brutality of it. Not only was it savage and callous, but it was two women who did it.

****ing lunatics the lot of them.

Didn't the guy rape a Chinese girl with special needs. Shouldn't even have been out.

He also lied about which country he was from but they let him stay because he had fathered children by the time it was uncovered.

People show a lot of support for the scissor sisters. If men killed a woman who abused their vulnerable father would they have sympathy? Doubt it.

Dochas centre is like a travellodge. The men’s prison is a hovel in comparison.

Yep, here's the low down on him.
Farah Swaleh Noor was 38 years old at the time of his death. He arrived in Ireland in December 1996, claiming to be a Somalian called Sheilila Salim whose family had been killed in Mogadishu. Subsequent investigations revealed that he was in fact Kenyan and that his family was still alive. The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform ordered that he be deported but he appealed and was granted citizenship in March 1999 on grounds he became the father of an Irish-born child. He had four previous convictions for offences including intoxication, threatening and abusive behaviour and assault. In 1997, he raped a mentally disabled 16-year-old Chinese girl. She later gave birth to a son. Two other women had children by him and both described having been raped by him. Noor had faced eight charges of disorder and assault, one involving a sexual assault in which a knife was found at the scene by gardaí. He was convicted on three occasions but never served time in jail. Noor lived in a number of areas in Dublin, including Dún Laoghaire and Firhouse, as well as the inner city before moving in with Kathleen Mulhall. Gardaí described him as being particularly violent towards women. Noor was a suspect in the unsolved murder of Raonaid Murray which took place in September 1999. Authorities are now satisfied Noor did not carry out this murder.
People show a lot of support for the scissor sisters.

Where did you get that from?

True, my brother had reason to visit both for his work and whilst the mens prison is OTT on luxuries, eg PS4, Sky sports etc, the Dochas centre was a joke. One of the prisoners he spoke to told him that she loved living there because it was so nice in comparison to the flats she came from and the hostels they get sent to on release from prison.

That pisses me off. Most female prisoners can attend colleges and do full bachelor degrees and have the keys for their own rooms and can leave the building as they please.

Men are locked in their room 23 hours a day. None of the men are allowed out to do college courses like the women.

Women prisoners have more opportunities to turn their lives around when in prison. Men are denied this. This leads to higher recidivism for men.

Men have to **** in a bucket in the room on front of other men.

    Women have private toilets.

Men have cold water showers and the showers are communal.

Male prisoners get inferior food. Women prisoners have a menu and the food budgets for dochas centre is multiples of men’s prison.

As someone who was in both Juvenile detention centres and care homes in the 1990's/2000's i can say they are a holiday camp.

The detention centre in Dublin was better than the quality of life i had at home.

If the womens prison was worse than the mens, you'd have the NWCI complaining. Why aren't women forced into the same conditions as men?

Female prisoners deliberately get pregnant on day release or just after committing a crime so they won't have to go to jail.

So much bullsh*t in one post unless you're speaking about 20 plus years ago.

I work in prison myself. Men aren't locked in their cell 23 hours a day unless they're in solitary confinement on punishment. Nobody has to sh*t in a bucket, all cells have their own toilets with running sinks, kettles and a TV. The showers are perfectly warm. The food is fine in the men's side. Plenty of prisoners are doing educational courses in house and a handful are released everyday to attend courses.

The poster also said women have children to get out of sentences automatically, including for getting off scott free from murders... I'd love to see the stats for that! Anyway there's literally babies in the female prison. There were two there when I was last in it. The women are allowed to have the babies in there with them until they're 12 months old.

Down with this sort of thing! There but for the grace of God (?) go any one of us. Both Linda & Charlotte were subjected to unspeakable horrors as children. The abuse continued into their teens. That either girl survived is miraculous. Yes! Their victim was treated inhumanely - but no more inhumanely than those girls were as youngsters. I wish them well, both Linda & Charlotte.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

Their mother was put through a horrid time with Noor also, so their hard times lasted beyond their childhoods and teens up until when it happened. Looks like they were pushed over the edge and went too far.

Catchy names like Scissor Sisters and the dramatic daily coverage of the crime tend to make you forget that these are actually people. I spoke with Charlotte and she wasn't at all what I thought she'd be. You expect this monster with the dark eyeliner to terrify you but she was actually fairly softly spoken, polite and 'normal'.
