Just doing a shop around for pet insurance. Rang Allianz and MS (petinsurance.ie)
There is about e60 in the difference. Same cover. Allianz coming in more expensive. Just wondering what people's experience is with dealing with these companies or would anyone recommend a company.
Thanks

Well we're only allowed discuss Allianz out of the two you mentioned. I'm with them and no issues at all - everything is always dealt with in a couple of weeks and I haven't had any drastic jumps that could't be explained - the most has been €100 after 2.5k of surgery so well worth it for me. Beware of going for a low price only to have it jump at renewal which has happened to others with different companies.

No idea if this will help with your quote or not but spotted this on a groupscheme discount site for Allianz pet Insurance:

Simply call the number below and quote "Groupschemes" to avail of the offer

01 448 48 48

Terms and Conditions

Offer only available in Year 1 for new Pet policies when you phone us and quote ‘Group Scheme Discount’
Discounts/ Reductions (e.g. 10% off, once off discount for microchipped pets etc.) are applied separately, on a reducing balance basis.
Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other Allianz promotion.
Standard acceptance criteria apply.

Thanks for info.
Just off the phone to another company. <snip>. They are quoting me €147.42. Cheapest quote yet. Anyone dealt with them?
I'd prefer to deal with a company that has a good reputation. Want to avoid hassle if I have to claim down the road.

Sorry op, as they don't want to be discussed on this forum and under threat of legal action, I have had to snip the name of that insurance company from your post.
There is a sticky about it here... https://touch.boards.ie/thread/2056955319/1/#post84749544

I'm with Allianz, never had any issues with them, though it's been quite some times since I claimed. I've been to a few different vet practices and they all seem to recommend Allianz, less hassle getting a claim processed etc. Can't speak for the other insurers. You might be fine with them.

I was with another company..... After I made a claim my premium quadrupled so I stopped paying it.

Mod note: You are permitted to discuss Pet Insurance.ie. We cannot discuss Pet Insure under any condition at their own request.

Apologies I was just about to correct myself!

EDIT : OP check which one your vet prefers or will allow direct claim with. When something unplanned happens it's great to be just able to sign the form in the vets and have them take over! Compared to other companies where you might have to do all the paper work.

Same here. I asked my vets before I took out insurance and they said that strictly speaking they weren't allowed to recommend a particular one, but a lot of their patients were with Allianz 'wink'.
A lot of vets apparently won't accept most of the others.
Had a bit of a laugh though trying to take out the insurance. The cat is registered in my name at the vets and it was partner who initially rang up, but because the cat didn't have his surname they needed to talk to me. They offered to double barrell her but we said no :D

Bit extreme for a routine check up ...

My friend is in the same situation and furious the dog doesn't have her surname - she wanted the double barrel name lol :pac::pac::pac:

I love when they call the pets in by their full name :pac: We're there so much they just call TK and Bailey/Lucy lol lol :P

I don't know about the other insurers but with Allianz you can manage your policy online, check the status of claims etc etc so handy enough!

There's another animal in my vets practice with the same (pet) first name and (human) surname as my cat. Apparently it's a Jack Russell. Maybe I should have double barrelled after all, although it would have sounded horrendous. I wouldn't do it myself, so definitely wouldn't do it to the poor cat.
