Just talking to a used car dealer and he didn't want it (too old) but said it's probably in the bracket €600-800. Would anyone agree/disagree?

Car is going pretty well, probably needs 2 new tyres and some on the windows don't open (driver's side does). It's been a great car for me and the fact it's a 1.4 and and estate is very handy - low tax, low cost to run.

    Just looking for an opinion.

I think it's more a €500-750 car. Nobody really wants those.

Take sold as seen out, it always looks like your hiding something.

It has plenty of test and some tax left and your photos are good. I'd advertise at €850 to sell for €750 and i'd say it'll sell quickly.

Put it in the bangernomics thread here too.

Cheers guys! Am I better off only trying for a private sale (went with carzone and adverts only so far) or would any dealer want it? I guess there's no markup on it from them?

Sad to let it go for a small price given it's a good car but the value is the value.

Most dealers don't want cars that age especially Renaults which are a minefield for problems and even if they did it would want to bought for next to nothing. There is just no money in it for them.

The best price you would get for that is through a scrappage scheme offer (some offer upto 4k) but that means you would have to be spending money on a brand new car.

He says he upgraded to a new car so don,t think that is going to happen.

The car itself looks in great condition. Much more practical than the hatch. Be a great first buy for someone or even as a second car for someone. They are a good solid car. The window problem is easy enough to fix for anyone that knows a bit about cars and the part can be got fairly cheap.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Cheers. It's been a second car for us for about 6 years so I agree totally. Low cost run-around which also has tons of space and the roofbars on top.

The main dealer gets between 1200-1500 for a 2006 Megane

Where? A main dealer isn’t going to sell an 06 Megane retail, and the trade price is €250-500

I work in a main dealer and anyone of those that come in in fairly good condition are retailed and sold within a few days

Is it worth talking to a Renault dealer locally in that case?

No they wouldn't take it unless it's a trade in

You won't get many main dealers retailing stock that old. It's hard to see how there's any money in it if they are doing it legit tbh.

All the cars were bought new from us so we've a full history of the car from day one. They are traded in for around 400-500
