Hi, on November 17th I will have 12 months of jobseekers credits and I'm eligible for the jobs plus scheme and my potenital employer who I pitched the idea to is on the register and is eligible but they don't want to pay me, they believe social welfare will pay me my jobseekers benefit rate while I am employed AND they will get the 7,500 grant. From what I'm reading on here and the official site basically I have to get paid from them and the jobs plus helps them with the grant and tax etc. My job wants to take me on while getting paid by welfare, not them paying me and getting help with a grant. Is there any way to do that? Sounds like job path is a better option, I am in turas nua and I showed them my support letter for jobs plus but my employer does not understand the scheme properly.. Can someone with experience please advise me how I can advise both parties and get things on the go. They can't afford to pay me for a 30-40 hour week. I want to do this to gain experience in this particular job, the grant never appealed to me this is not about the money this job experience will change my life and CV for ever

From what I know, they will have to pay you for at least 30 hours a week. They don't get free labour and a €7,500 grant for their trouble. Cheeky feckers I'd be looking for at another company for experience.

Your employer is totally wrong about the JobsPlus scheme and you need to run a mile because in my experience employers like this don’t really want to know they just want the lovely free money from SW.
The employer has to take you on and pay yoou at least minimum wage for at least 30 hours per week and you will have full employment rights (breaks, holidays, etc) and the employer will have to pay a stamp for you and give you a terms and conditions of employment etc.
In return he will get the grant from SW.
If you have dependent children you can apply for FIS depending on a means test and if your family is entirely signing off JSB/JSA you will also qualify for the lucrative Family Dividend Payment.
If you are signing on for 12 unbroken months you will continue to qualify for Medical Card for 3 years.

Can a company employ someone on a commission only basis on the Jobsplus scheme?
