Is this a bad time of year to trade in a car?

I am looking to trade in my 2007 car for a 2013-ish car. Is there anything to be said for waiting until the new year when I assume the garages will have a larger stock of traded-in cars and maybe be pricing them a bit better to get them out the door?

You would be far better to sell it yourself private. Any main dealer won't want anything over 5 years on the forecourt and will likely give a terrible price to take yours.

It kinda comes own to this. Garages would be at 2018 prices now for stuff they're trading in, but some cars could be in stock since the summer, and costing the garage more than they're worth now, they could blow them out and not make any money, but they could still not be as competitively priced as stuff that'll be around next year.
The 07 would be worth the same to them now as then, so all things being equal, I'd wait.
