So what is the average length of time a film gets in the cinema these days?

I say if a film gets a month in a cinema it has done well.

I am asking because Geostorm was barely in the cinema 2 weeks and it seems to be gone. Its not the only film but its the most recent one I have noticed. Some cinema,s either like IMC for instance don,t seem to have even bothered screening it. My local did not have it and the Savoy in Dublin did not either. I think screenings in the Savoy has been terrible unless you are into that oprah stuff they seem to show these days.

Well geostorm looked a like a TV movie with a big budget, so you were probably saved a few bob

It's still being shown in my local one and is on next weeks schedule as well and has been there since it opened in Ireland.

It's all relative to how well a film is doing at the box office, plus what films are coming up the rear, ready to push it out of screens.

Years ago you would have to wait six months to get a movie on video after it's cinema release. That's why people went there and then. They come out now on blu-ray two odd months after its release.Or if your lucky you get a torrent online if it's leaked.Easier access these days.Although you still cant beat watching a film in a nice cinema.

Agree totally with that. Nothing like being in a nice cinema with a huge screen a nice big drink some goodies to nipple on and the sound good and load to see a film the way its meant to be seen. No need to worry about being interrupted either.

Sure you can torrent it or get it on blu-ray which I have done but its never as good as the cinema.
