Hi so we have a nordmende tv. We used to be able to receive some English channels e.g E4, BBCs. But over last year we don’t seem to be able receive them. I have tried retuining the tv but that doesn’t work(only brings back the Irish channels) There is a manual scan option but I’m unable to really know how to work it(what bands I’m picking or frequency’s) apologies if this has been asked before but I’m wondering if anyone could help or if it’s still possible to receive them channels.
    Thanks for any help

You need the right kind of aerial setup to get the Freeview channels. It's possible you have this but its condition has deteriorated over time, or someone might have removed the power supply for an amplifier.

If it's actually satellite channels you're talking about, that's another matter entirely.

If it is Freeview through an aerial I get some good reception in Dundalk from Divis near Belfast and from Camlough. Divis has 100,000 watts power on some channels and Camlough is only 500 watts but the signals are around the same.

Channel 27 for BBC1 NI SD from Divis and Channel 59 from Camlough. The BBC HD stations are not strong enough with me so the picture breaks up.

    This is a SATELLITE forum
You might get a better response in the TERRESTIAL forum

DXhound - I get great great HD BBC (& HD: C4 UTV Ch5) on a standard 20+ year old antenna in Ardee

The Divis map shows an area near Ardee with good coverage. But neither Dundalk nor Ardee towns are supposed to get a good signal according to the map. My aerial is over 30 years old and it had to be put about 10 feet higher than any neighbours to get good NI reception back then. It is an inexact science.

I can scan in all the HD channels from Divis and they do give a steady signal at times.

I'm circa 2km north of Ardee, so I must be in a fortuitous location.

You must only have a good enough signal on the BBC mux.

I'm assuming you're also in the general area of Dundalk since you posted in this thread?
