Beacon v Blackrock

    Hi all,

    Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, mods please move if nessesary.

    I've to get my Thyroid removed due to an ongoing cancer issue, I've been given the choice of having it done in either the Beacon or Blackrock Clinic.

    My health insurance covers both but the excess for Blackrock is around €200 more than the beacon.

    Is there any benefit to me paying this and getting the prcedure done in Blackrock? The surgury will be carried out by the same consultant anyways. I don't mind paying the extra if it is a better hospital.
