    Hi Rudyroo,

Thank you for getting in touch.

1 kilowatt-hour is equivalent to 1000 watts of energy used for 1 hour.

If your appliance is 2kw water heater, then this means that it uses 2 units of electricity per hour (2000 watts).

A unit of electricity costs 17.17 cent on the Electric Ireland standard unit rate.

If you require more specific information relating to the heater, you may need to contact the manufacturer.

Should you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Aoife

What temperature do you want this "hot" water to be?
It typically takes 0.5kWh to raise the temperature of 10l of water from 10c to 60c, i.e. about 9 cent.
