Clocked car query

    Hey,
A mate of mine was in the process of trading in his car when he was informed that the car was clocked, by about 60k km before he bought it.
There is no comeback as he has it about 4 years and it was a private sale.
The query I have is whether there is a way to correct the mileage, as in adjust the clock to read what it should be and if so, who does it? Also, do you them have to disclose the fact that it was previously clocked to any further proposed buyer, even though it was rectified?
    Thanks in advance

If you google "mileage correction" there should be some companies around locally that can change the mileage.

How did the dealer find out it was clocked?

Sounds like the dealer done a motorcheck on it before accepting it as a trade in.

Doing a history check is standard practice with dealers for this very reason. Regardless of whether the cars mileage being "corrected" by someone now or not, it will still appear on all of the systems as a clocked car and something most dealers wouldn't touch.
