Civil Service Grad Roles

    Hi there,

I am interested in joining the civil service when I graduate. I have seen EO and AO competitions open up which I believe are for graduates. I am wondering are these random competitions the only route?

For example, large companies usually advertise around October for graduates and then take them on in September the following year. Is there anything similar in the civil service or is it just continuous hiring?

    Thanks

The civil service run competitions for these positions every 2 years. Not sure when AO is due up again and EO is due around Nov or Dec of next year

Also bare in mind these are not quick processes. I was highly placed on 2 panels (CO and EO) and it was 8 months and 10 months respectively between initial application and start date

Tbh, I am shocked how little how open up. I was kind of hoping to go straight into the civil service after college.

    Thanks for the reply.

It wouldn't really be cosy effective to advertise and hire for individual roles as they came up. Instead that do campaigns every year or 2 years depending in position to create a panel which lasts for 12-24 months.
