Faulty Combi box or something else?

    Hi all

Recently I cancelled SkyTV and today replaced the Sky HD box with an Optimuss Edision 3in1 FreeSat\Saorview Combi Tuner.

The Optimuss was working in another room a few months back, and I tested it's Satellite connection OK in the sitting room only a month ago.

But today it refuses to work in the sitting room, for satellite, it just says "no signal" and for saorview "no program found" when I do a scan.

Yet if i plug the same satellite feed back into Sky box it works. No way of testing the Saorview feed but it did work before.

What's weird is that when I put my satellite finder between the Optimuss and the dish, it does not even light up, yet when I put the same satellite finder between the dish and the Sky box, it lights up fine.

It's as if the Optimuss is not supplying any\enough voltage to the dish\UHF aerial.

I think this come with a 2 year warranty so I may be returning it unless someone else has a better idea?

    Cheers :)

Can't help you but it's very strange that my neighbour has the exact same fault as yours since only sunday with the exact same box.

He thinks he got his box installed about a year and a half ago .
I thought it was a fault with his dish as my meter didn't light up either.
Will have to swap his box out and see what happens .

    Thanks for posting though

Cheers, yeah I actually put a multimeter on the satellite output of the optimuss this morning and found there is no voltage at alll coming from the optimuss. Must be a faulty set top box.
