I'm looking to buy some fairtrade coffee beans in the city but am struggling to find anything in quantities greater than 250g or fancy (expensive) 500g bags at Sunday markets. Any advice? I'm not after anything too special, just fairtrade beans that I can use to make espresso at home and can be bought in 500g-1kg bags.

Cup of excellence is a far better option than fairtrade in my opinion.

What would your ideal pricepoint be? Most decent roasteries are going far beyond Fairtrade (Which mightn't be all that fair in reality) and doing direct trade and even investing in farms.

3FE, Cloudpicker and Roasted Brown are all Irish and operate this way, or purchase green beans from buyers who operate this way.

Fairtrade is a totally busted principle, not fair at all at all!
