Hi, I'm on the lookout for a new car. Came across nicely kitted Golf, it's v. attractively priced which usually raises a question why? I paid for full check on myvehicle.ie and nothing concerning except the number of previous owners. Here's what is says:

    from 20/02/2017 - Private (8 months)
    from 08/12/2016 - Garage (2 months)
    from 18/11/2014 - Private (2 years 20 days)
    from 02/07/2014 - Company (4 months)

It's a 142 car. How would you interpret it?

Probably an ex demo or pre reg for first 4 months, then bought by someone for 2 years and 20 days, then sitting in a garage for sale for 2 months, then owned by someone for 8 months. Doesn't seem out of the ordinary, biggest concern would be most recent owner only keeping it for 8 months, could be worth having it inspected for crash damage.

I'd agree with that, I wouldn't necessarily let it concern me too much.

If the car is online post a link to the ad, we may be able to offer a bit of advice from there. If not, what engine/ mileage/ spec/ colour is it? Some are much more desirable than others.

I'd say it's priced sensibly for what it is, I don't think it's suspiciously cheap/ attractive.

Good spec alright and the 1.4 really makes it. Shame the earlier highlines didn't get rear LED's.
