Omega repair

I've a 2011 Seamaster Co-Axial that appears to have a stripped crown. It no longer locks or winds the main spring. I've had the watch since nearly new and am very p*ssed off about it as the watch has had very little use and has been extremely well looked after.

I got on to Weirs who said their only option was to send it back to Omega for a service (at a cost of €600) and only then would they diagnose the problem and give me an estimate for the cost of a repair. Again, very unsatisfactory. My position is that this is a defective product, however the only way I can even get close to Omega to ventilate my claim is to pay 600 bucks up front:mad: I couldn't be arsed with the hassle of chasing them in small claims court so I'm looking for a good horologist to take a look at it.

I used Emily Nerney before on two of my watches. She did lovely work but appears to have vanished. Could anyone recommend someone else?

    Cheers.

Fast Fix in Dundrum might seem like an odd recommendation but they outsource to a specialist.

I had an 09 PO serviced and a main wheel replaced about this time last year.

This is interesting. What are their prices like?

Cant remember to be honest. But they will open and review for a nominal fee. It wasnt the 600 + Omega were asking. I have a figure of 300 for everything in my head, but i could be wrong.

I think they outsource to a retired Swatch/ETA engineer.

Do you have the warranty? I think Omega gave a 7 year warranty with the co-axial movement?

I asked recently about servicing my Stowa Marine Original and they quoted just under €300 as it was in the same bracket as an Omega.. (their words)

Its certainly a damn sight cheaper than a AD return to manufacturer service!
