Laptop repair (case/hinge/wiring)

Is there anywhere in Ireland that does full-on laptop repair, Louis Rossmann style?

I have a Macbook Air with a broken hinge which is completely disconnected (i.e. wiring is sheered through). Is there anywhere here that I can get that repaired?

I've had a couple of places look at it and tell me to send it back to Apple, but that's not economic to do.

    Any pictures?

Is the damage on the bottom part of the case (keyboard section) or on the screen part?

Either way I can understand why most places do not want to touch this. Parts are very expensive and risk of messing up is very high.

You say the wiring is sheered, I would bet that this means that you need a new screen as well, as repairing those cables is not really possible. Or at least not possible to do in a reliable way.

    What year Air is it?

It’s an original MBA 1,1. It’s in good condition elsewhere and has a Runcore SSD.

Neither the case nor the screen are damaged, the damage is isolated to the long thin plastic clad section between the two hinges, on one side only.

I mean your description of the damage in your original post is "I have a Macbook Air with a broken hinge which is completely disconnected".

Anyway, I'm not too sure what the damage is now. Does the screen work at all, since you say the cables are sheered? If the cables which run from the screen between the hinge and into the base of the laptop are sheered then the screen is a goner. And if the screen works, then I have no real clue what those cables could be. Perhaps WiFi antenna cables.

All that being said I don't see any way this is going to be economical to fix. If it is an original macbook air, it's already 9 years old. Time for a new one, take your SSD out and perhaps use it as a portable drive.
