In a nutshell , My partner is Hungarian (we are not married) and she bought an apartment 10 years ago (Before I met her) and lost a fortune on it due to the crash. Finally got rid of it this week and all debts paid off and never missed a payment.

We hope to buy a home next year and am wondering if I can apply as a FTB on my own ? To avail of the 10% deposit benefits.
She is not currently working (State Maternity leave) as is at home minding our first child who was born 3 months ago.

Can I apply as a First time buyer without the need for her to be involved seeing as I will be providing all the deposit ? Or does her having had a Mortgage abroad in the past impact my ability to get the First time buyer benefits (and me having to find 20% deposit instead)  ?
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting on to us here.
Can I ask if you're planning to not only make the deposit your self but also make the monthly repayments and have the property in your own name?

    Thanks again,
    Darren.

All monthly payments will most likely come directly from my account too.
Until we get married where we will likely get a joint account (but that is sometime away - and will be further away if i need a 20% deposit lol)
