    Hi,
I've just unexpectantly found my in the position where I will have to become a landlord shortly. Firstly can't believe the tax on rental income is 40% (I work fulltime). I propose to hand over the letting and management of the house on the northside of Dublin to an Estate Agent, and would welcome any advice or recommendations of a reliable/proven Estate Agent. All advice on being a landlord welcome. Thanks

All income is subject to the same tax, there is no special tax on rent. Your total marginal rate will be more than 40%, you should check again - don't forget about prsi and usc.

The usual advice given is to sell your property.
