Right so Ryanair cancelled my family and my flight last Monday due to the storms which I understand but only gave us 5 hours notice. To make matters worse the next flight home they could put us on was today 8 days later! Now they have said they will reimburse us for the hotel expenses and food but who’s ment to pay me the wages I lost or my other family members wages because they couldn’t get us home for 8 days? Is there a way these can be claimed I know I can’t give out over the weather but 8 days is a crazy delay

Non they won’t pay your wages unfortunately, you could always apply for the EU compo but I don’t think it’s applicable for storms and the disruption they cause. 8 days is pretty ridiculous but Ryanair book out all their flights so I’m not surprised. I’d personally have asked to be re-routed via another airport or even Airline

    Travel Insurance FTW.

Eight days is a bit of a stretch though.

I have travel insurance but they won’t book you new flights if your airline does can wages be claimed on it

Depends on the policy/Insurer, the best thing to do is check with them.
