As about half the boardisies on the cycling forum are from NCD I'm sure many of you know of Dermot Higgins who is in the process of trying to get into the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest person to cycle around the world.
Maybe there's a thread about it but I haven't seen it.
I've been following him on Facebook since Ukraine. Has just crossed into Thailand. Interesting reading.

Pretty eventful days cycling for our man yesterday.

Looks like an epic journey for him.

"I decided to abandon the coastal track which was putting both myself and Karolina under pressure"

I presumed Karolina was a cycling buddy until I read:

"Suddenly there was a clap of thunder and a simultaneous flash of fork lightening that were so violent, I nearly fell off Karolina"

    :D

Cycling around the world is definitely on my “bucket list”.

I must check out this lad's trip. Sounds good.

I've been following Willie Bennett's round the world trip for the last few years which is very interesting.

Seems like our man had one of his more interesting days yesterday.

Loads of those kind of lads out in the bush. I came across more than a few odd balls on my own adventures over there. Usually they're just overly friendly and curious similar to our own cead mile failte but it takes on a whole different dimension in the middle of nowhere. Your man probably woke up and thought those bloody cyclists are cracked.

It made for good reading though and thankfully came out unscathed.

He's on the Late Lunch program on LMFM this afternoon at 13:30. Not sure what time Dermot is on though.
