    Hi,
I am trying to get a deckhand job. I am 50 and changing careers, my old job was stale and it was time for a move.
My basic safety training is scheduled for December and medical on the way. I hope this will get things moving. However I would like to have a couple of trips fishing before that, so I am more aware of things. since my experience at sea is only on a keelboat on pleasant weather  :)
Checked some previous threads but I am wondering if there is anything up to date on this. Does anybody have any tips, advice? any places to go? etc
I have been chatting to people at the pier to feel the market, but not very lucky so far.  I suspect my age may put some people off but I cannot fix that.
I live in kerry so the closer the better. and of course, open to try different jobs.
    Thanks! I'd appreciate some advice
