Plenty. But if I did, I wouldn't have the life I have now. So, on second thoughts, not a single thing. Might do some things sooner though.

I think regrets are toxic.I choose to actively push them out of my thoughts. Whats the point of wondering what if? Just try to do the best you can with your current life and try not to make same mistakes again.

I'd turn the clock back next weekend.....when it's supposed to be.

And be on time all of next week.

Speaking of time travel, I'd love to go back in time (to before my time) and kick the butt of whoever it was that came up with daylight savings time!

Do we get to keep the knowledge we have now and use it to our advantage ?

I seemed to do everything ass-ways in my life. Baby at 21. split from her dad. i was living on benefits for her first 5 years of life. Then got a job in a school when she started school, and just kept plugging away keeping our heads above water. Met a guy, moved to Ireland, did some courses , got an office job, got married, did more courses and have now got myself a decent enough job that i love (most days), now separated.

I keep wondering when i'm gonna grow up and settle. If I could go back and do it all "properly" would my life be any better ? No it'd just be different i guess. I'd have tried harder at school and maybe gone to college and had my career earlier, but then if i had my kid later, i'd probably still have a dependent child/children. Instead i have a great kid, now 21, and i'm living my "twenties" life now instead of then. It's a one shot deal and wondering about what could have been will just torture you.

But i would definitely have hugged, kissed and spent more time with my dad and told him to quit the fags!

If movies have taught me anything - and I think they have - it's that you simply can't just mess with the space/time continuum and not face terrible consequences.

No, I wouldn't go back and change anything because I'm happy where I am now and any alteration to the past would jeopardize that. And I agree with Wakka, regrets are toxic and unproductive and promote wallowing in the past rather than moving forward and embracing the future.

    How far ?

    I'd keep the Neaderthals alive

    and the trilobites

I wouldn'd de-evolve our tails, claws, ability to make vitamin C , ability to continuously grow new teeth, third eye and all the other cool stuff we've lost over the years.

It's ok - hes just trying to be funny, failing miserably I might add, but giving it a go none-the-less. My dad appreciated effort - as long as you tried you were ok with him. Very low tolerance for prats though :D

you could go to bed tonight, wake up tomorrow, and call that starting again. This is still your life... you have the same heart beating in you as was beating all those years ago.

Clearing your mind might be the most important thing you do.

it's an overused cliche about "today being the first day of the rest of your life" but that's the thing about cliches, they're usually bang on.

What's gone is unchangeable but the future has no such restrictions.

It's been a tough life, late teens and 20's wasted but in my 30's now with 2 brilliant boys I'm proud to call my sons.

Just saw the person a few posts beneath saying they wouldn't have got married.

Thats the sort of thing I think is the hardest and saw my uncle go through a divorce and yeah i had that sort of thing in mind starting thread.

Yeah mine would be last Xmas Eve getting hammered on whiskey in front of my lady's father and the show I made of myself.
    The fookin things I said.
Til the day I die I will regret it but cant take it back. But it was awful. Hardly a day goes by. Made the ultimate tool of myself.

I wish I could unwind to that day.

Were they just silly things you said or did you let fly with a rant / inappropriateness? Don't want details but it may be one of those things you all come to laugh about in years to come. If you take care of and love his daughter he'll forgive you the odd transgression.

Well, texts have been shared. Nice ones.

But it was last Xmas Eve and we haven't met since then.

I'll be honest, if it was My own Dad he'd have laughed it off. He's have said ah just whiskey talking.
If it was my sister's fella like.

    But I dunno.

He bought a house forher brother. But nothing for her.

Ah its just how it is

It'll be ok. If you go over this Xmas just present him with a lovely bottle of the best whiskey you can afford, tell him he's not to open it till you've left the premises, laugh it off, and then sit down with your cup of tea and get him talking about the good old days. Folks love reminiscing. And they love a good listener.

Just seen your edit, yeh families can be weird and do things we'd find disagreeable. But nout you can do.

If is pointless.....everything you have done and everything you have experienced in life so far has led you to exactly where you are now.....imho life is pre ordained and what is for you wont pass you and what is meant to be will be. You can do nothing about your past and the future too is beyond your control.....live in the now as it is a gift.....its why it is called the present.

I always hear this bull****. If I just sit in this room now and refuse to eat or drink water... will what is pre-ordained come walzing in the door. Or does it mean I was pre ordained to starve myself to death?

It was pre ordained you would starve yourself to death obviously......I wouldnt advise it though.
