Hi, hand got cut by rusty nail at work the other day, called my doc to check when i had a tetanus jab..they said my files go back nine years and no record of one..im sure i got one, six years back....but they say its not on system.
Also if any doubt, they said to come in and get it...
Now, coz it happened at work, does anyone know if work is to reimburse me the forty euros for a jab? Or is it all on me.
I have no medical card or on any welfare or subsidy schemes..one of the last breed of working for a wage guys.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

OK I'd get the tetanus jab first and worry about getting reimbursed afterwards.

True story: my late mother worked as a nurse and they admitted a farmer who was complaining about stiffness in his joints and a fever.

    He died.

He hadn't mentioned that he'd cut himself on barbed wire some days previously.

In fairness, your employer should reimburse you.

Mention it to the boss, they might offer before you have to ask. Something similar happened me before and the boss was insisting he paid but I wouldn't hear of it since it was completely my own fault.

I'm not so sure. We all should have out tetanus jabs up to date regardless of what job we are in. I can't see how it's the employers fault that op hasn't kept up with his vacancies.

Having said that, nothing wrong with taking to the employer about it but as someone else said get the jab now and worry about who pays later
