I’ve an 07 diesel executive spec Lexus on done deal 2 months now. It’s a great car with 110k miles on clock.
I think the age/tax is killing it.

I’ve another one bought from Uk

Just wondering how I’ll offload it?

    What price?

    It's worth about 1900euro

Nearly 11 year old lexus is going to break the bank with repairs, I'd keep away

Its a lovely motor. The tax is a big issue alright you also need to drop the price to around 3k and be willing to take 2-2.5k there is no value in a 3.0 petrol car. Sorry.

A couple of them up there. Prices seem off on either of them with one more of a boy racer looking thing.

I’d it up for 3k hoping for 2.5k after getting advice here. Though I’d take 2k now

Why didn't OP just link the ad?

There will be a market for it but it would need to be priced accordingly. The newer the NCT you have for it the better, if you only have a few months on an annual NCT to early 2018 it could be worth putting it in within 90 days, less worries for potential buyers for the sake of €55.

Feel free to link your ad and we will do our best to help.

Unfortunately the IS220d isn't a much loved model, the 2.2 has a lot of expensive reliability issues, and anything over 2.0 tax on the CC based system can be a hard sell at the best of times. Apparently they aren't a great driver either but I've never driven one.

It’s actually a decent drive. It’s not designed for country roads. Realistically it’s a motorway car. I’ve had to get injectors sorted a few years back.

My target market was someone who’s not bothered about taxing cars....€994 is punitive

That's the thing. To someone looking for a car with a budget of €2k, it's 50% of the cars value in motor tax which is a lot.

Someone buying a car for the love of motoring who doesn't care about tax, typically isn't buying a 220d.

Yep I know. Though given I bought it new, paid 45k for it, it really grates me that there’s no demand for it. It’s mad the way on dd there’s 07 focus and s40 looking for 3k.

Getting fairly sick of looking at it now!!

Trade it in I know not happening as you bought already but car is too expensive.

Lexus rushed production of the diesel and should never have done it.

    Terribly unreliable.

    Cramped interior.

Put car up for €2400 and see how you get on.

Haven't seen link posted so put 10 good photos up in daylight and get a view of all around and interior shots.

Put in service history and any other details that show it was cared for.

Its Up for 2k now. The cheapest executive model with that mileage so hopefully....

The tax is high, they are noted for unreliability and the passenger wing is dented. If I had 2k to spend I would buy a corolla. If I wanted a Lexus I would spend more than 2k. Its a catch 22 situation unfortunately. It may go at a grand.

I reckon you're not far wrong at 2k tbh.

I reckon you're not far wrong at 2k tbh.

I'm a bit baffled at the prices on similar cars.
    The garage were giving me €2k for it.....when I saw dd I figured I'd get 2500 easy:pac:

In retrospect I shoulda bitten their hand off:rolleyes:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

Ah hindsight and all that. I wouldn't entertain much haggling at €2k.

Drivers seat looks manky in the pics and a dent on drivers wing that you haven't mentioned. I'd recommend you retake pics maybe in better light and clean up the interior a bit.

At that price point pics will turn prospective buyers off.

The drivers seat isn't dirty. It's the colour of my trousers on it....that's beige leather for ya.

Well done! Thought you had it up for 1995 so you did well to get the 2k in fairness.
