    Hi all,

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to transfer job from one Local Authority to another?

Can public servants somehow apply for transfer or do they have to apply for vacancies which arise through government or local authority advertisements?

Yes, and is common. The person wishing to transfer should contact the HR department informing them of their request and to which L.A. they wish to transfer. HR then contact the other L.A. advise them of the grade seeking transfer, other L.A. then advertise among their own staff of the opportunity. If any applicants both L.A.s interview the prospective new staff members and if happy facilitate the transfer.

Note must be at same grade and if one LA doesnt feel what they would be getting matches the staff member leaving will be within their rights to reject the applicants.
