I'm bringing my girlfriend to New York just after Christmas and am just seeking advice on best proposal places in New York City. I don't think I want to do it in a restaurant so anywhere special or different that anyone can recommend?
Also, I am just giving a token ring and hoping to purchase a ring over there. My budget is about €2500, can anyone reccomend anywhere to buy rings? I know the diamond district is reccomended but anywhere in particular? Is this budget too low for a ring in New York?

All help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

I know its probably overdone but I honestly loved Central Park when I went. I was there just after Christmas as well and we went for a walk there one evening as it was starting to get dark. It was nowhere near as busy as day time and its was so romantic. I'd highly recommend there.

I always think natural proposals are the best. Plan some nice things to do and ask her when the moment is right.

Over planning it can ruin the moment for you so make sure you are also relaxed.

    Good luck

Second this - my friend planned this big elaborate proposal in central park and then it was raining bad so he ended up going to the m&ms factory and getting "will you marry me *name*" on them and talked to the hotel and got bubbles etc and did it there :-)
If the Rockefeller tree is still up its fab there! Or the ice rink in Central Park! (Love the movie Serendipity! Haha)

Or just do what I did! Plan the trip to New York, plan to propose in Central Park, and then get impatient/too excited and propose the night before you fly, when you're both at home packing! ;) She still said yes... :)
