Dublin Airport, T2 charging points?

I parked in the T2 short term car park this week and tried unsuccessfully to use one of the charging points on level 1.

It was a type I hadn't seen before, with no card reader and just a button and LED light on the front, with a cable socket on the R/H/S. There were no instructions on the signs.

Anwyay, I plugged in and left it but it didn't charge. Pressing the button made no difference, nor was there any indication on the charging point of what it's for.

For future reference, does anyone know how these things work?

I used It about a month a go. It was only plug an play. No probs apart from the fact I spent 10min looking for it. I drive a Leaf, not sure what’s your car.
If I were you, I’d ask the parking staff if they have it powered off for a reason...

Could you have had the timer engaged on the car?

It could have been as simple as the one you were trying to use is broken. Happened to me a couple of months back, tried one but not working and then plugged into different one and all was fine. If I recollect there's a LED that should be lit up to indicate that it's working.

Think this was likely it, although there was an LED lit up on the charging point. I know the timer was turned off on my car, so that wasn't it.

Thanks to everyone for their input, at least I know now there wasn't anything obvious I was missing.

I use Quickpark premium. You drop off car just after you come into car park. Then drop off keys to guys, when I said it was electric they offered to have car fully charged and ready for me when I come back.

They park car for you and you give them time you think you will be back at and they have ready for you.

This is not available from what I can see on standard service when you park the car yourself.

It cost me an extra 2 euro for premium last time I used it. You cannot use any of the discount codes for premium. So maybe it costs a little bit more if using a discount code.

Beware that could go the wrong way...
I was promised all of it last time we went abroad, even parked the car near the charger. On the day of the return flight, an hour before the flight I checked the Nissan App only to find out the car was not charged. Rang Q-park , the lad on the phone tried to tell me they do not offer such service. After I explained what I was told when I left the car, he then agreed to charge it for me.
So it is great to use it, but beware and check your app...
Terminal 2 is really for shorter stints to the airport

A friends car was damaged by them also. There camera check in and out wasn't used by them or they'd have noticed the damage, but when he complained they did sort it out.
