Channel 4 / E4 tend to be reliable for drama and this looks fun.. scored by Blur's Graham Coxon too.

    Starts October 24th.

Only first episode on Channel 4. Rest on All4.

It didn't really do anything for me.

I heard an announcer on Channel 4 referring to the show by its full name last week. I don't think I've ever heard a continuity announcer say the bad f-word (fuck) before.

I thought it was dreadful muck.

I recorded it but the news the rest is on All4 means I probably won't bother.

Stupid carry-on that is, lots of people don't have or want to use internet for tv.

It's not as if C4, E4, More 4 and 4-7 are full to the brim with first run quality programming, they could really not find a 30 min slot somewhere, Maybe 1 less Big Bang repeat a week?

Yeah, I tend to agree. But a lot of UK stations seem to be going this way... look at the likes of BBC3 who are online-only, albeit they repeat a number of their popular shows late-night on BBC1 / BBC2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 617 ✭✭✭BoroMan32

    Watched it all.

It was interesting and bordered on quite decent at times. Something different if nothing else.

General Twitter response from those far younger and cooler than I was generally favourable, also.

Just watched the first three and I enjoyed it. Its different, well acted and
    interesting
    .

There's a slight irritation (for me at least) of having this episode's plot disaster telegraphed before hand, but hey ya can't have everything.

Precisely, I've never understood teh rationale for Channel 4 sticking material on All4 as an exclusive unless it's simply a case of penny pinching. The rights for a web channel will clearly be cheaper than for broadcast.

Agreed, she totally owned that role. I thought it was brilliantly written, acted and scored and I loved the pace, the episodes were short and snappy but never felt rushed. It was edgy but not in that try-hard way that so many teen dramas are (like skins, for example, though I enjoyed that show).

When people watch a show like this and are like 'it didn't do anything for me' it boggles my mind. To make a show that is as clever as this, and as dark, but still feels believable, is extremely hard to do. Why do you think rte only makes one good drama per decade on average if we're lucky.

Just watched 3 episodes. Thought it was strong, confident from the off and had empathy for its characters.

Thought it was pretty good as well, leads worked well but I felt the first few episodes were much stronger than the final few. Nice to see Barry Ward as the dad, he's a decent actor..... bit like a budget Aidan Gillen at times but good.

Yeah, I dunno what it is about TV/films whereby the initial escapade that's quite good/captivating, then the chase ensues only to fizzle out a bit.

    Still, good show anyway.

I lasted 9min of Episode 1, and had to turn it off.

The characters were just doing my head in, way OTT and annoying.....I simply couldn't watch any more.

While I'll no doubt watch the 2nd series as I enjoyed the first one a lot, great performances by both leads, I really think they should have left it, the ending was perfect, the same way it ended in the comic, which doesn't have a sequel as far as I know.

This is why I'm getting fed up with TV series and think they can never match films - the goal is always to get you to watch again, at the expense of just telling a well crafted story that has a good ending without cliffhanger after cliffhanger until you're worn out. Like the Handmaids Tale it just became a pisstake after the first season.

I thought they had made a great 1 season show and could have left it at that, but now I'm glad they didn't.

The girl who plays Alyssa is fantastic again, the soundtrack is greeat too. Enjoying it so far.

Loved the music in it, Bonnie was a menacing presence throughout,
When she shot both of them at the end of episode 7
ended up feeling sorry for her in the end. Alyssa is a complete weapon but the best character by a mile, she usually gets the best lines, I like how her eyes are rolled permanently,
like James I thought she was going to kill herself at the end, I know it's quite dark but that would have been a bit much even for this

I heard they are leaving it at that, I liked how it ended, hope they leave it the f*ck alone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,411 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

    they can't go again
    I will end myself
    brilliant

2nd season is awful for how sad she is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,353 ✭✭✭Heckler

Binge watched today. Loved s01. Excellent. The leads were great but Bonnie was fantastic. Maybe put it to bed now and leave it go on a high.

Loved the 2nd season, great ending as well. Would be happy to see more but but think it should end as is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 945 ✭✭✭Always Tired

Was a definite homage to (or ripoff of) the scene in The Graduate where they drive away from the wedding, but I enjoyed it.

The guy who plays James does deadpan really well. I've a feeling he's gonna do a lot of voice work in the future. Between this series and the Black Mirror episode he's in danger of being typecast as 'creepy guy'.

Binge watched as well here, was hesitant about a 2nd season but it was so good I started with the first episode and didn't finish until it was over. Much as I love it, think it's the perfect end point. The leads are insanely good together.

    Season 1 was super.

2 was so fooking boring...had nothing...

The amount of nonsense boring dialogue!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,842 ✭✭✭Glebee

Struggled through S2 to be honest, not a patch on S1. Trying too hard to be edgy and tragic. By the end I wanted to smack the male lead character.
