Hey guys. Hoping you all could help me out.
I’ll be traveling to Amsterdam next month for 4 days during the week. I’ve looked for accommodation online but prices are 300+ for 4 days ?! I’ve tried air BNB and prices in the city are also the same.
Because it’s my first time, I don’t want to have to be travelling for the majority of it so need accommodation within walking distance of the city centre.
Would anyone know of any places to stay that are under €200 for 4 days for two people ?

Anything will be much appreciated! :
    But no hostels please.

You'd be better off in the Travel forum.
But quite honestly: less than €200 for 2 people for 4 nights - that's definitely hostel territory and you will struggle to find a decent one for less than €25 per night per person, especially if you are looking for somewhere central.

Amsterdam city center is dear. You would be lucky to get a decent hotel room inside the canal belt of the city center for €200 a night.

For that money you would be lucky to get a one star dive within 2 miles of Dam Square. A hostel along Beurstrasse is about 20/25 a night each.

Amsterdam has a great public transport system, maybe look further afield like Zaandam or out by Schiphol airport.

Easy hotel (link) is a cheaper no frills option.

    Might get something here.
There are cheap places over pubs where you get the key from the bar staff. Not as bad as you may think.

Some of the ones above the pubs or brown bars aren't bad but are still going to be in around €100 per night.

Why no hostels? Look at The White Tulip Hostel; smack in the middle of the RDL, and above an Irish pub that does food. You should be able to get a small 2 bed room.

Otherwise, you'll either be paying double the hostel prices, or at the very least close when you add all the taxi fares if your place is too far from the city center.

Unfortunately City prices will be way over budget if you're setting the bar that low! Accommodation can be very expensive! I'd definitely say either look further out of the city or drastically increase your budget. We were only over for 3 nights last month and it was €400 for us both!

I am not too keen on hostels myself but after travelling to Amsterdam a number of times, I find the hotels are way overpriced and most of the hostels I have stayed in are in fact nicer than the hotels themselves.

My advice would be look into hostels and book a private room....is exactly the same as a room in a hotel.

you're talking Amsterdam centrum. Where house rental prices are 2-4 grand a month. If not more. Go outside. Amstelveen, zaandam, Diemen etc. 200 voor 2 personen voor 4 dagen amsterdam - die vlieger gaat niet op
