    Hi All,
We're (two adults) going to Berlin soon and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel?
The last time I was there I stayed at the Park Inn.  It was booked by a friend and was practically free!  Does anyone know of any good hotels offers in Berlin?

    What dates?
Which airport will you be using?

    Another recommendation for H2 Alexanderplatz.
We you arrive by train it is just a few minutes walk.
Central to all public transport and close to bars and restaurants.
And as said previously good breakfast buffet.

Discovered the Adina Apartments (Checkpoint Charlie) from an older thread here if you are staying in Mitte. Lovely place, ridiculously good location and not expensive. I didn't want to leave. On a side note the Stasi Museum is a must.

It really depends on what part of the city you wish to stay in.
Personally, West Berlin is my favourite part of the city and I always stay in an area near the tiergarten.
The Riu Plaza hotel offers the most gorgeous city views if you ask to stay on a higher floor, and the hotel itself is really lovely and amazing value. If you book through their website and sign up to their club, you get a further 5% off the price.

It's worth checking out the discounts some of the websites give. I got almost 70% off the Pullmann Schweizerhof once on booking.com. Some of the high end business hotels have capacity at weekends and discount it.

That said, the Park Inn is a great location. Does it still have the see through bathroom walls?

Thanks for all the advice guys, I've been going online tonight.  (It's a surprise!).  It looks like the hotels are all about half price if you book a month in advance!  Which is a bit of a disaster.  Agree Alexanderplatz is really handy but the prices are not great now...:O  Thanks for all the tips, will let you know where we go.

Yep, basically hotels on the 12th Nov are less than half what they are charging for next weekend!
If anyone knows of a good lastminute hotel thing (not lastminute.com which is absolute pants), please let me know.

Next weekend is very bad timing. A lot of regions in Germany will be on their autumn midterm break and there is a Bank Holiday for all of Germany on the 31st. A lot of people will be on extended weekend breaks.
Public transport is very good in Berlin, think a bit further out along an S-Bahn or U-Bahn Route.

    Thanks Cheshire Cat,
I was wondering what the heck was going on.  The Reichstag is booked out too!  I'll have to phrase it slightly differently to my wife and not state that she selected the wrong time to be born.  In the end I went for priceline and got  The Weinmeister.  Priceline wasn't cheap but the hotel I was looking at went up by about €56+taxes between last night and today!!  Anyway,  Weinmeister looks good and is handy for the airport, fingers crossed it'll be ok.

Enjoy your trip! Berlin is great. With some luck you can get tickets for the Reichstag on the day. There is an info place outside the Reichstag yjat deals with same day tickets. Don't forget to bring your passport with you. They won't let you in without ID.
