I own a Citroen c4 2006 1.4 petrol and it splutters a bit , more so when cold. It did this 12 months ago as well and my garage told me he reset ecu and that should sort which it did. He also said just disconnect battery if it happens again to re set. It started this again last week and I disconnected battery and it sorted…

It started this again last week and I disconnected battery and it sorted it again but 3 days on started again.

Can somebody tell me what's wrong and how much roughly to fix , I don't really want to put much money into this car as I'm looking to change next year.
