The Minister stated that "All social welfare recipients", will get a bonus this year. Having been reading a few articles it seems it applies to everybody except those of us who may have lost a job recently.

It is grossly unfair that those of us "Who got up early in the morning", who now find themselves out of work and applying for the dole will not get this bonus, while those who suffer with chronic laziness will get it.

I do not begrudge those on old age, disability, carers or widows their bonus but to pay it to those who may never worked out of laziness, while those who lost a job suddenly may really struggle.

Same happened to my partner last Christmas, was forced to leave his job due to his boss trying to force him into illegal activities and was barely signed on a month when he got himself into a full-time course. Was told no bonus as he hadn't been signing on long enough :(

Never on benefit, always struck me as unfair.

You might benefit from reading the State Benefits Charter (No. 6 in particular) near the top of the New Threads.

How long do you have to be receiving jobseekers to get the bonus? Doesnt make sense not to give it to people that are only out of a job. Very unfair

Closing thread as it is against the forum charter.
