Smallholder in Delgany Wicklow on the lookout for any nearby farmers with stock trailer who may be interested in doing a pig transport run to Camolin in Wexford as I don't have large enough trailer.

5 pigs booked in for slaughter delivery on afternoon of Monday 23rd.

Will pay for diesel plus 20kgs of free range pork / bacon / ham / sausages etc.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

If someone let you have a trailer would you have something to tow it with?

An afterthought, maybe if you asked your namesakes (butchers) in the village they might point you to someone who could help, I think they would have one or two small producers supplying them..

Yeah I have a Freelander so no worries but no trailer licence. If needs be will run the gauntlet ... but would hate to get stopped when loaded on the motorway and they not let me on down the road.

Hmmmm, Murphy’s law says that would happen! I have a wooden stock trailer that I don’t use any more but even though it’s in good condition because it’s wooden it’s not approved for use so that could be an issue at the factory.
I added a ps to the other post , would you be comfortable asking in Farrellys (I said Bradys’s by mistake!) butchers? they might be able to help...

Thanks for that. It's only a small slaughterhouse so not a big factory. I saw some rough trailers going in there last year when was down so don't think wooden trailer would be any issue. I know others who have brought a pig or two down in home car trailers with sides built up with pallets!

Would your trailer hold 5 pigs? They are on the small side. . Roughly 60kg ×5 =300kg so even with trailer very close to the 750kg weight that doesn't need a licence.
