Hi.I have a bit if a dental emergency..pretty sure I have an absess. I happen to have a medical card and haven't been to the dentist in a few years...I know my fault..anyway anyone know what is the procedure if you have a medical card but you need attention fairly quickly. How do you find out which dentist will accept.is it just a matter of ringing around? In Dublin 11/9 area btw

Pretty sure medical card only covers certain things with dentists like one extraction and maybe a cleaning something like that but probably best to ring around like u said

Put in your address and check Dentist/ Dental Practices and you'll get a list of dentists accepting medical cards. You should be able to get an appointment today or tomorrow depending on their availability.

Your medical card will cover an exam, prescription, extractions and 2 filling per year
