Looking at going to either one or both of these countries in December.
Can anyone throw out any suggestions about them?  Especially in relation to:
Hotels - all inclusive or not?
    Things to do?
Ease and quality of Scuba diving

    Thanks

Maldives > Mauritius is if you're a couple. Mauritius > Maldives if solo.

If going private island resort then All Inclusive beats room only as your food choices will be limited anyway.

Sometimes though AI is prohibitively expensive so half board might be a happy medium.

No idea about scuba diving though sorry!

If it's the Maldives, get the air taxi, one of the last commercial twin otter fleets still going.

Went to Kuramathi in the Maldives in 2015 for honeymoon. It’s one of the larger islands but it suited us budget wise for over water villa.

Went select AI as this was al a carte inc alcohol rather than the buffet restaurant with no alcohol. Food was great quality and so fresh.

Was underwhelmed by the snorkelling off the shore, the reef was damaged and dead.

Went on a few diving trips and these were a lot better. Now they’ve not a patch of some other sites we’ve dived but we enjoyed.

Had numerous activities daily(kayaking/windsurfing/soccer/day trips to other islands) but then there were days where we done feck all and rarely bumped into others outside the common areas.

Views are amazing from the sandbank and like the postcards but there is a local island which is visible from one side of the island. Suppose it just shocked me as I didn’t expect to be seeing large aerials and buildings in my idyllic setting :-)

Overall would highly recommend and make sure to do the seaplane, the extra few hundred is worth it for the views alone
