Waiting for probate!!!!

    Hi all,
Just looking for anyone with experience buying a house in probate. We went sale agreed in early June signed contracts in mid August(7 weeks ago)received signed contracts from vendor two days later. A letter was sent to expedite the probate a week later by vendor. We checked two weeks ago and were told the probate office wanted another piece of information. We then called again and we were told that another expedite letter was sent!
The vendor is personally doing the probate.
We are worried that the extra information the probate office looked for would send us back to the end of the queue (16-17 week turn around)
    Anyone have experience or advice,
    Thanks.

Surely your solicitor can advise you?

Can the vendors solicitor not get involved?

All our solicitor can do is call their solicitor and get them to call the vendor. We have asked their solicitor could they get involved in the probate but the vendor is going alone to save money.

We don't mind tha wait its the not knowing when we will move!

Unfortunately all you can do is wait. You are at the behest of Revenue. Until they are satisfied and probate is granted, nothing will move.
Having been through this process myself (on the vendor) side, it is frustrating for all concerned. Lots can go wrong and Revenue can be pretty demanding / petty about the things they request.
Hoping it gets sorted soon for you.
