Release bearing on Seat Leon

I'm due to get my mk3 leon serviced in the next week. I was told last service I might need new brake pads this coming service or else the next one possible. How much typically for these? I also think I need a new release bearing as the car is rough at idle and the noise mutes once I dip the clutch. Its been like this the last few months but I decided to wait until the service to look at it unless it got worse. (How much would this typically cost) Also, i notice some whining from my steering wheel. It doesn't happen very much at all but it sounds loud when it actually does; usually when I turn into a carpark. Car is 3.5 year old with 67000km. Rough costs in a main dealer please? I expect this to be a costly, painful service. Oh and I need 2 new tyres to top it all off. Joys of motoring:)

    The tyres vary by size.

Is the Leon petrol or diesel? Petrols need plugs @ 60k, diesels need an engine air filter at 60k, should be €230~ for either. At 3 years old its due a brake fluid change too, €50~.

Pads will be around €150 main dealer and at 60 odd kms you may be needing them soon.

I really doubt you need a release bearing but you are describing a symptom of a worn one. Doing a clutch at a main dealer would be pricey but I'd get someone there to listen to the noise and verify it before you jump in deep and ask for a clutch.

2.0tdi; ye i showed a cousin and he said its a release bearing but just to leave it....I'm abit fussy and as its a good fairly new car I don't like leaving things. I have visions of service, new tyres, new brake pads, new release bearing and possible new clutch coming to over a 1000e which means I prob should have traded her in earlier in the year:(

At a main dealer, yeah, you're not too far off price wise.

That said, spend the money and it'll be a great car again for a few years. €1k on servicing is an awful lot cheaper than trading in and a 3 year old Leon isn't a bad place to be.

Ha true; I guess its me trying to justify getting a new car! Great car for years is right but I have it 2.5 years so can't see me keeping it for anymore than another year! lol
