Motorised valve on feed to water tank

    Hi there,

I recently replaced a myson motorised valve which is on the mains feed to a water storage tank located in basement. The valve is linked to sensors within tank to detect high level of water which closes valve and sounds an alarm. The valve would only ever shut off if the ballvalve fails and sensors detect the rising water

Back there today and it’s quite hot to touch. Are these valves designed to be permanently open/powered?

    Thanks
